Meet the Artist

Hey there! The names Emily. I don't love to post about myself, but I do it every now and again for those of you who don't personally know me. I am the artist on this channel, as you can probably guess.

I started this account back in college originally to post my drawings that were a daily requirement for Drawing 101. I chose the name inkpenink because I exclusively drew in pen (specifically a 0.3 MM Pentel Arts Hybrid Technica... and I still do). I had always thought printmaking was cool, but I didn't know much about it and I could never seem to fit the course in my college schedule. But a few years after college I was getting frustrated because I would go too dark with my drawings. So, I thought if I had to think in revers that would help. That it did, but it formed a new love. I still draw but not nearly what I use to because I am hooked on linocut.

Some other things that you may not know about me: My background is in Graphic Design, I have been designing since I was 16. I have been the Creative Director at The Experience for going on five years now, and feel incredibly fortunate to be working with some of the most talented people I know each and every day. I have an unhealthy obsession with birds (my favorite is the American Kestrel). I have a dog named Bert, who looks more like a tiger than a dog. And lastly I wouldn't be here posting my art if it were not for my incredibly supportive husband. He has put up with projects taking over the house, he continues to bringing food when painting project go later than we expect, and all around just champions me to keep working on my artistic skills.
