Type of Commissions
Ink Drawing
Custom ink drawings make meaningful, one-of-a-kind gifts. Whether it’s a beloved pet, a special place, or a personal symbol, each piece is designed to capture emotional connection through expressive line work. Pet portraits are especially popular, as are homes and buildings with sentimental value—perfect for anniversaries, housewarmings, or milestones. Created in my signature style of crosshatching and stippling, these are not hyper-realistic renderings, but artistic interpretations that evoke memory and meaning. If you're looking for a custom gift with heart and artistry, an ink drawing might be the perfect fit.

Type of Commissions
Linocut Prints
Custom linocut prints are a beautiful way to create meaningful, shareable gifts. Whether it’s a symbolic design or a way to commemorate a special event, each hand-carved print reflects both artistry and intention. Perfect for weddings, family gifts, or celebrations, these prints allow you to share the same design with multiple people. Printed by hand in small batches, each piece is slightly unique—combining bold design with handcrafted charm. If you’re looking for a heartfelt gift that can be shared, a custom linocut print is a timeless choice.

Type of Commissions
Tattoo Design
Custom tattoo designs are a meaningful way to carry personal symbolism with you, forever. Whether inspired by nature, a cherished memory, or a symbol unique to your story, each design is created with intention and care. I work closely with you to understand the essence behind your idea, translating it into a bold, clean design perfectly suited for tattooing. Unlike designs pulled from Pinterest or flash sheets, these one-of-a-kind pieces are crafted in my signature style to truly honor your vision. If you want a tattoo that’s deeply personal, original, and visually striking, a custom design may be the perfect fit.
What I Create
I specialize in creating symbolic, eye-catching artwork that celebrates the natural world, particularly plants and animals. I take the following types of commission: ink drawing, linocut prints, and tattoo designs.
I create with a clean graphic aesthetic, characterized by crisp lines, simplified shapes, and a modern visual language. Each piece is thoughtfully crafted with my signature style and a neutral color palette. To maintain the integrity of my artistic voice, I work exclusively within these themes.
It's also important to understand that commissioning an artwork is not the same as working with me on a graphic design project. Graphic design often involves multiple rounds of revisions and close adherence to detailed specifications. An art commission, on the other hand, is a more intuitive and expressive process.
When you commission a piece of art from me, you're trusting in my creative interpretation—allowing space for symbolism, mood, and meaning to emerge organically through my style. Rather than replicating an image, the goal is to bring the meaning of your piece to life through artistic expression.
Before moving forward with a commission, please be sure this approach aligns with your expectations. Artistic collaborations thrive on mutual trust and creative freedom.

I hired Emily to make a commissioned piece for my then girlfriend and now fiance and she absolutely nailed it. It was a hand drawn portrait of my wife's childhood dog and it was spot on and so well done. Hire InkPenInk for any and all commissioned pieces. She is incredible. - James F
