Portfolio

I’ve worked with a variety of brands including local businesses, nonprofits, restaurants, coffee shops and churches to create custom designs that connect. Take a look through a few of my projects to learn about my design style.

Brass Horn Coffee Roasters

Brass Horn is a local Tennessee coffee shop and roaster that strives to make a positive impact through coffee and culture. I refreshed their brand with a full brand kit that included logos, a color palette, merchandise and even a mascot.

The Challenge

While the first logo was functional and had a clean foundation, it left room for more personality to better reflect the brand’s identity. For a business with such high-quality products, it deserved more. The team desired a logo that communicated serenity and positivity while honoring their founder, Jeremy Florida. Jeremy’s lifelong love for music allowed him to realize that great music, like great coffee, is deeply complex when consumed in its purest form. The team wanted customers to experience that purity not only in their coffee, but in their interactions with the brand, too.

The Process

I chose muted colors that feel calm, cool and balanced. These colors are reliable and thoughtful, and they help customers build confidence in the brand.

The fonts are clean and memorable with a hint of personality. They are neutral, approachable and emanate a polished yet professional foundation for the brand.

Binninger-Schwartz Restaurant

Binninger-Schwartz is a local Tennessee restaurant owned by Hell’s Kitchen Season 21 winner Brett Binninger-Schwartz. I developed their branding to be both approachable and sophisticated, and also created a fun, interactive mural to complement their brand.

The Challenge

Brett reached out to me to create the logo for his new restaurant. He wanted something that was classy, bold and elevated.

The Process

I decided to craft a hand drawn font for the logo. The typography is timeless and balanced, making it feel reliable and upscale. Restaurant-goers can expect carefully-crafted dishes, thoughtful service and an emphasis on excellence, and those qualities flow through the logo.

I also created the mural on an outdoor wall of the restaurant. Brett wanted a fun take on the “angel wings” mural idea, so I crafted steak wings and shrimp wings (for the kiddos) – perfect for a photo opp after a delicious and satisfying meal out.

Lost & Found Grief Center

Located in Springfield, Missouri, Lost & Found Grief Center is a nonprofit that supports grieving families through support groups and workshops. I had the opportunity to illustrate two pieces that help families navigate difficult seasons of life: a workbook and a children’s book.

Little Grievers

The Little Grievers Workbook teaches parents and caregivers how to address the death of a loved one. I illustrated the entirety of the book, including the preschooler worksheets. The illustration style of the workbook is welcoming rather than clinical and features simple, approachable drawings that guide the reader through various prompts that promote reflection. Interactive elements create space for children to color, draw in or personalize as part of the healing process.

The Most Special Gift

The Most Special Gift was created to help children understand organ donation using age-appropriate language and illustrations. The characters and scenes are easy to understand and feature clearly-conveyed emotions. The colors add touches of warmth to balance sadness with comfort and healing. I was honored to work on this project and hope it helps families navigate a delicate topic with grace and compassion.
