Set Free

This is an original, limited-edition linocut titled "Set Free." 

This print was created in response to a true story. My cousin, Nate, is a park manager in Pennsylvania, and one day a rock climber called the park office, explaining that he had found an eagle that had become trapped under some boulders below the face of a cliff in the park.

Nate and his crew immediately contacted a local raptor center, and for five hours, they worked together to carefully rescue the bird. To their surprise, they discovered that there was not just one eagle trapped under the boulders, but two. After a long and delicate rescue, both birds were successfully freed and taken to the raptor center, where they received the care they needed to recover.

Weeks later, both eagles were healthy enough to be released back into the wild on Veterans Day, marking a powerful moment of restoration and freedom.

This piece was created to commemorate that incredible rescue, a story of perseverance and the hope found in being set free.

As a gesture of gratitude to those who made the rescue possible, eight prints from this edition were gifted to the team who spent five hours saving these two eagles. Their dedication and perseverance not only freed the birds but also inspired the story behind this piece.
