Tangled Grace

What began as a simple experiment in composition soon unraveled into something much deeper: a layered story through shape, symbolism, and a bit of internal reflection. Now that the piece is finished, it feels less like a design and more like a story I didn’t know I was telling, until it was already on the page.

Tangled Grace explores the complex relationship between grace, responsibility, and the ways compassion can sometimes become entangled. The print depicts two beings caught together, each unable to move freely because of the other. Neither intends harm, yet both remain trapped in a quiet gridlock. This print is a reduction print. Meaning, with each layer of ink, more of the linoleum was cut away from the block. There is no going back with a reduction print. Every mark counts.
